In the preparation of blow molded bottles, PET slices are first injected into preformed billets, which requires that the proportion of secondary recovered material should not be too high (less than 5%), the number of recoveries should not exceed 2 and the molecular weight and viscosity should not be too low (molecular weight 31,000-50000, intrinsic viscosity 0.78-0.85cm3/g). Injection molded preforms can be stored for 48 hours or more. Preformed billets that are not used up after heating must be stored for another 48 hours before being reheated. Prefabricated parts should not be stored for more than six months. The quality of the prefabricated rod is largely determined by the quality of the PET material.
